Home

I'm really, really looking forward to going home on Thursday. I miss the sky. I miss the mountains. Dang it, I miss my family. I love you Susie and Rick and Mom. Miss you, Mom!

I miss the sky.

I think it's normal to need to hug someone who would love me anyway.

p.s. And there really IS an Arizona. Dufuses, I don't know what travel agent they use, but I -- personally -- would switch!

I just have to say that I have an amusing personal anecdote (aren't they all?). When the Kiwi first visited the USA, we did a road trip (in a Mustang convertible, no less) from Tucson, through Phoenix, Las Vegas, Flagstaff, Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Las Cruces and back to Tucson). We stopped at the Painted Desert and the Kiwi ponied up the 10 bucks to drive into the Painted Desert (this is after going to the Grand Canyon, mind you) and she felt COMPLETELY ripped off by the Painted Desert. She couldn't get over having to pay $10 to look at pale rocks in a hole (thank God I paid to get into Meteor Crater!). She still hasn't got over it, and now we refer to really disappointing things as better or worse as the Painted Desert.
